Terrific Two's Ahead!

I had planned to blog on the rollercoaster of motherhood. I logged back onto this account and saw several drafts...not one complete...and realised that it perfectly summed up my journey (and most other parents) perfectly. Life is busy. Add in a child who is dependent on you, and you truly understand when people say it. That tiny little person you have created is dependent on you, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and they are your priority.

Anyway, I havent even introduced my little boy. He is named Rory and has now turned 2! Just like that.  Rory reminds me a lot of Ron Weasley...and not just because he is ginger. He is shy but confident,  he is hilarious and cheeky and he is brave. Rory has taught myself and Ryan how to be parents- and let me tell you, that is one hell of a journey! The single, biggest learning journey of my entire life.
Rory 1 day old!

Yeah, I look like I have my shit down in that photo.. but the truth is - I definitely didn't.  I had a fairly traumatic start to motherhood and I tried to put on a brave face, be strong and keep going. After all, many other people have it much worse right? Right. But I as I found out, that doesn't matter, you still need to acknowledge and face your own feelings and challenges. They are valid. They do matter and life isn't a competition,  it's about doing what's right for you.

So as we journey through Rorys terrific two's,  I hope to document some of it, whilst also dealing with some of the wounds that need to heal. I'm doing this purely for myself, but if it helps anyone or anyone finds it interesting,  then that's a bonus!
