So today I realised that my nan is 85 and my pappy (Grandad to most normal families) is 90...90!! That is nearly an entire century that he has lived through, I can not begin to imagine all the changes he has experienced and had to make. This made me wonder if in 70 years time when I'm a modest 93 what changes will I be experiencing? Will I be thinking about the good old days when I could play F zero X on my N64 or will that be a forgotten memory replaced with memories of iPads and voice controlled vacuum cleaners...
It also made me think a great deal about health. We all know when you visit our nans, we get spoiled, lots of cakes and biscuits, (nom nom nom) but really every day my nan serves these treats to my pappy, along with heavily salted main dinners. He is extremely fit and active for a 90 year old, is salt really that bad for you? Why can't we just enjoy life instead of worrying about what were consuming.
This blog will be a way that I can hope to remember significant or even insignificant thoughts in the future... that's if blogs still exist in 70 years time, who knows what may replace them! I hope you will enjoy reading some, if not all of my blogs, and I hope that we will all still be here in 70 years time!
A huge part of me absolutely loves the fact that your 'good old days' involves not only the N64, but F zero X!!
ReplyDeleteIt blows my mind too when I think about everything my Nan has lived through and how quickly things have changed in only the last 20 years!
Loves xxxxx
Realising my only comment about the 'good old days' involved a computer game there worried me on hind-sight. I hope the next generation and the next will get to experience climbing trees and making secrete dens, going for bike rides and playing in the park with friends. F zero X was an enjoyable companion alongside all of the previously mentioned and I hope that's all computer games will ever be.
